RoadOne IntermodaLogistics has acquired Ace Transport Miami, the intermodal, warehouse and logistics services provider announced last week.
The Florida-based carrier will operate as Ace IntermodaLogistics, a division of RoadOne. The purchase price was not disclosed.
"We are confident that Ace's strong market presence, differentiated service portfolio and niche position handling overweight loads will complement RoadOne's existing capabilities and enable us to better serve the transportation needs of our customers," Ken Kellaway, CEO, president and co-founder of RoadOne, said in a statement.
Ace employs 70 drivers in southern Florida and operates a fleet of 300 company-owned chassis. RoadOne said Ace established itself as a niche provider handling overweight loads out of PortMiami and Port Everglades.
Ace's 100,410-square-foot warehouse in Miami supports transload and distribution services for import and export freight, RoadOne said.
RoadOne said the addition of Ace's assets fits with its strategy to grow its network to service Florida's ports and provide access to other U.S. ports and Latin America.
Rudy Alvarez, founder and owner of Ace Transport Miami, and his brother, David Alvarez, vice president of operations, will remain with the company and oversee the day-to-day operations.
RoadOne has made several acquisitions since 2021. In January, the company announced its purchase of Texas-based The Transporter Inc.
