'TIE Fighter: Total Conversion' Fan Remake Info
If you’re a fan of Star Wars Squadrons but you’re feeling desire for more,
If you’re a fan of Star Wars Squadrons but you’re feeling desire for more, you’re now in luck: a group of fans of 1994's cult classic TIE Fighter has now remade the game with (relatively) modernized graphics.
Titled TIE Fighter: Total Conversion, the new remake is actually not based on the ‘94 game itself but a modded version of its sequel X-Wing Alliance. The project has already been in development for several years and is now finally complete. It includes a wholly "reimagined" campaign mode that spans across 37 missions and brings in "more ships" for even "bigger battles." Aside from widescreen resolutions, it even supports a VR mode for those looking for a truly immersive space dogfighting experience. The soundtrack has also been remastered, although if you’re feeling nostalgic the original MIDI track is also available.
For those interested in trying out this TIE Fighter remake, you’ll be able to download the mod over on its website, but note that you’ll need your own copy of X-Wing Alliance as well as the X-Wing Alliance Upgrade Project mod.
Elsewhere in gaming, EA may be rebooting the Dead Space franchise.
