FARGO (KFGO) – A Fargo man was arrested on a number of charges involving a crash Tuesday shortly after 5 p.m. at the westbound 45th Street exit off of I-94 in Fargo.

The State Patrol says 22-year-old Jefte Nzimoto failed to stop for the red light at 45th Street and read-ended a semi-truck trailer. Nzimoto then fled on foot from the crash. Multiple witnesses saw the crash and assisted Fargo Police in locating Nzimoto. He was combative and resisted arrest as officers tried to talk with him.

Nzimoto is charged with DUI, DUI refusal, Leaving the Scene of an Accident involving another vehicle, and resisting arrest.

Nzimoto was taken to Essentia Hospital where he was medically cleared of injuries and was then transported to the Cass County Jail. There were no injuries in the crash.
